One basement, many projects.

When Excellent Contracting was called in to finish this basement, little did Gary Sweitzer know, but there was more to this project than just walls, plumbing and electric.
After it was all finished, the work included bathrooms, bookshelves, a full office, a family room with gas fireplace, and a sunken atrium lighted ceiling.
Remember this was a basement, and Excellent Contracting had to build all of the furnishments from scratch around heat ducts, exisitng pipe, and the house's electrical network!
One of the first things that Excellent Contracting had to do was turn a flat wall that followed the stairs down to the basement into usable space. The wall was cut flush with the steps and rail was put in. Under the wasted space under the steps, a beautiful wine rack was constructed and installed.
The animation at right shows you a before and after morph of the wasted wall, turned into usable space.
At Left is the finished ceiling atrium. The ceiling was flush under the heating duct and the recessed area advances upwards to the actual upper-floor beams. Small-wattage lights were then installed, giving a very posh-like quality to what was once just cinderbrick and cement!
Below shows the family room that Excellent Contracting finished up (the customer provided the furniture). Notice the recessed atrium ceiling at the upper left in the photo, and the brass gas-fireplace installed into the wall. At far right you can see the bookcases of the office area.

Above is the same room but from a viewpoint at the back of the office area.
At Right is the finished office, allowing for books, computer equipment, and space to work. Please click on the link below to see more examples of Excellent Contracting's work.
